Amazing food. The cullenskink which was creamy and delicious. The prawn tacos were crispy and light. The fish and chips were delicious with light crispy batter. The loaded fries were nicely spicy with crispy bacon pieces. So many amazing dishes to choose from. Also dog friendly outside.
Beautiful Scottish food! My husband and I had the half lobster, and venison burger. The lobster was fresh, delicate and very tasty. The venison burger was perfectly seasoned and so juicy! Both dishes came with chips (very nice, light, crispy, tasty) and a fresh salad. Staff were very friendly and helpful. Their drinks fridge has all your favourite and popular soft drinks (in glass bottles not plastic!) and a range of canned ales We would not hesitate to eat here again.
Came back to Dornoch for the first time since 2020. Visited Surf and Turf for the first time with my wife. It was so good! The lobster roll was definitely worth every penny. The Monkfish, and prawn tacos were also delicious and cooked fresh.
Food took a while but options were limited… the Italian place said they were full this evening although they clearly were not when we walked by and walked back… but I’m glad we went to Surf and Turf! The lobster roll with local lobsters was perfectly cooked, tender, and delicious… The burger my wife had (local highland beef) was as good as any we’ve had in the states… it really exceeded our expectations. Thrilled we grabbed dinner here.
Brilliant local recommendation as a half way stop up to Tongue. Seafood is fresh and tasty, perfect for a lunch. Loved the tacos. Friendly staff that are upbeat. Really lovely interiors. Was not disappointed and definitely would come back on another trip. We parked outside, place has a bathroom that’s clean too. Nice to walk around the village afterwards before setting off again.
Tasty Gem in the Heart of Dornoch We stopped by Surf & Turf during our time in Dornoch and it ended up being one of the best food spots of our trip! It's a small, cozy little place with a lovely relaxed vibe — and the food is absolutely delicious. You can tell everything is made fresh, with real care. We had one of their seafood specials — so tasty, perfectly cooked, and full of flavour. You really can’t go wrong with anything on the menu. It’s proper comfort food, done really well. The young lady serving us was so friendly and welcoming — even though it was busy, she made time for a quick chat and kept everything moving smoothly with a smile. It’s clearly a popular place (and for good reason), so you might have to wait a little, but it’s more than worth it. Highly recommend stopping by if you’re in Dornoch — whether for a full meal or just something quick and tasty to take away. One of those places that feels like a hidden gem, but you’ll be so glad you found it!
We only tried the seafood and we were very pleased. We tried the catch of the day and one item from the normal menu. Both were fresh and very tasty. Take away and sit in, best place for lunch.
Don't miss the lobster roll, fish and chips, and the venison burger. The Cullen skink is a creamy delight, and the prawn tacos shine with a crispy texture.
